This event resulted in the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.

A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
