Trump's Organization Sought to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this period, while his government was placing obstacles for other businesses attempting to do the identical, a report released recently claimed.

According to information from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization sought to hire at least nearly 200 foreign workers in the coming year for temporary positions at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.

The number of applications for temporary work visas for staff including waitstaff, office assistants, cleaning staff, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the record filed by the company, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that the former president had sought to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The revelation coincides with a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has involved the introduction of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; increased review of the actions of the 55 million people who already hold US visas; and tighter regulations for international scholars and journalists.

Overall, the Trump Organization sought to employ 566 foreign laborers over the five years Trump has been in the presidency, from his first term and during 2025.

Significantly, Trump was criticized by certain in the GOP this week for comments justifying the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy certain positions.

“You can’t just say a country is entering, going to invest $10bn to construct a facility, and going to take people off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a host after it was implied that foreign workers lower the wages of American employees.

The administration refused a request for comment, and the business did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
