The First Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Platform-specific outlets have started writing on PS5 topics for the first time. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to attract subscribers with strong games on its flagship service.

The Current Inclusions

The duo of games that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.

Upcoming Headline Games

Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — transforming them into ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
