  • Magpies winger Anthony Elanga

The New Manager's Role

The English manager was appointed by Sweden originally temporarily in late October, less than a month following he was dismissed from the Hammers

Previous boss Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired after the national team's 1-0 loss against Kosovo on 13 October, a result which rendered direct progression in qualifying group unattainable

Sweden sit last place in Group B with only a single point from their opening four games

Should they fail to finish second, they may yet participate in the secondary qualification as a result of their performance in the most recent Nations League
