Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
